30-Day Outdoor Challenge Day 8- Campfire Songs

There's nothing like a campfire to bring the family together and connect to nature.  Last night was the perfect night for a campfire because it was cool and clear.

You can have a campfire in your own backyard
You don't have to live in the woods like we do to have a campfire.  All you need is a fire pit you either make or purchase at the store (but be aware of fire safety rules).

Don't forget the classic campfire songs
We all remember those classic songs from our own camping days as a kid.  We resurrected a few last night and the kids got a kick out of them.

Here are a couple for you to use  for your next evening under the stars. And don't forget the s'mores!

Cutest Worm
Verse 1 (repeat after each line)
The cutest worm
I ever saw
was curled up in
my soda straw
the cutest worm I ever saw was curled up in my soda straw!
Verse 2
He said to me
don't take a sip
for if you do
I'll surely slip
he said to me don't take a sip for if you do I’ll surely slip!
Verse 3
I took a sip
and he went down
all through my pipes
he must of drown
I took a sip and he went down all through my pipes he must of drown!
 Verse 4
That is the end
there ain't no more
unless i see
that worm once more
that is the end there ain't no more unless i see that worm once more!

Boa Constrictor
I’m being swallowed by a
boa constrictor,
a boa constrictor, a
boa constrictor,
I’m being swallowed by a
boa constrictor,
And I don’t like it one bit.
Oh no, he swallowed my toe.
Oh gee, he’s up to my knee.
Oh fiddle, he’s up to my middle,
Oh heck, he’s up to my neck.
Oh dread, he swallowed my (slurp-swallow)

  1. This is a really fun idea! I remember The Cutest Worm song-- thanks for the reminder and the lyrics! (The only thing I'd worry about is the neighbor's hearing me sing!!)
